Cell Phone and Dress Code Expectations
We have taken time during the school day to teach the expectations for this new policy for the 2022-2023 school year. If you need help clarifying, please do not hesitate to call the number(s) below.
We are limiting communication throughout the day with student cell phones to allow for students to re-engage with peers, and staff to support executive functioning, and interpersonal skills. A large part of why we come to school is for this in-person socialization. We learn to work together, listen, speak up, question things publically, and to be collaborative. At school, we do these actions face-to-face. The Indian Trail Cell Phone Policy is as follows:
Indian Trail students are to keep cell phones turned off or silenced, and locked in their assigned lockers throughout the school day. Devices should not be in pockets, purses, pencil bags, etc. Offenses are as follows:
First offense: Students will receive a warning, and will need to return their phone to their locker for the remainder of the day.
Second Offense: Students will need to turn in their cell phone to the Dean’s office. The cell phone can be picked up by the student at the end of the school day.
Third Offense: Students will need to turn in their cell phone to the Dean’s office. Parent Contact will be made, and the cell phone can be picked up by a parent at the end of the school day with a signature, and contract reminder of expectations.
Fourth Offense: Students will need to turn in their cell phone to the Dean’s office. Students, Parents, and Dean will meet to discuss strategies for adhering to the cell phone policy with responsibility, and accountability.

Estamos limitando la comunicación durante el día con los teléfonos celulares de los estudiantes para permitir más interacciones con sus compañeros y el personal para apoyar el funcionamiento ejecutivo y las habilidades interpersonales. Una gran parte de por qué venimos a la escuela es por esta socialización en persona. Aprendemos a trabajar juntos, escuchar, hablar, cuestionar cosas públicamente y ser colaborativos. En la escuela, hacemos estas acciones cara a cara. La norma de celulares de Indian Trail es:
Los estudiantes de Indian Trail deben mantener los teléfonos celulares apagados o silenciados y guardados bajo llave en sus casilleros asignados durante todo el día escolar. Los celulares no deben estar en bolsillos, carteras, estuches para lápices, etc. Las infracciones son las siguientes:
Primera infracción: los estudiantes recibirán un aviso y deberán devolver su teléfono a su casillero por el resto del día.
Segunda infracción: los estudiantes deberán entregar el teléfono celular en la oficina del decano. El estudiante puede recoger el teléfono celular al final del día escolar.
Tercera infracción: los estudiantes deberán entregar el teléfono celular en la oficina del decano. Se hará contacto con los padres, y un padre puede recoger el teléfono celular al final del día escolar con una firma y un recordatorio de las expectativas del contrato.
Cuarta infracción: los estudiantes deberán entregar el teléfono celular en la oficina del decano. Los estudiantes, los padres y el decano se reunirán para discutir estrategias para adherirse a la política de teléfonos celulares con responsabilidad y rendición de cuentas.

IT Dress Code Value Statement:
- Students are expected to be dressed and groomed in a manner that will contribute to a positive school atmosphere. A student’s personal appearance, cleanliness, and behavior should demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, the learning environment while also allowing for student individuality.
- Student dress code enforcement should not result in unnecessary barriers to school attendance
Indian Trail Dress Code:
Section 1: Clothes must be worn in a way such that areas considered private are fully covered with opaque fabric. Students should carry their student ID with them throughout the day, either on their person or in their belongings. Students must wear:
- A top, which must reach at least belly-button level, should cover the sides and abdomen, and have straps
- Bottoms that do not reveal undergarments or areas considered private
- Shoes
Section 2: Students may wear, as long as these items do not violate Section 1 above:
- Hats facing straight forward or straight backward. Hats must allow the face to be visible to staff, and not interfere with the line of sight of any student or staff. Hoods are not permitted.
- Athletic wear, opaque leggings, skinny jeans or fitted pants, pants with holes and tears (so long as it does not violate Section 1)
- Religious headwear
Section 3: Students Cannot Wear:
- Violent language or images
- Images or language depicting drugs or alcohol (or any illegal item or activity)
- Hate speech, profanity, pornography
- Images or language that creates a hostile or intimidating environment based on any protected class or consistently marginalized groups
- Any clothing that intentionally reveals visible undergarments
- Accessories that could be considered dangerous or could be used as a weapon
- Any items that obscure the face or ears with the following exception:
- Personal protective equipment (masks, shields) during a pandemic
- Or items worn as a religious observance

- Ropa deportiva, polainas opacas “leggings”, pantalones ajustados o flacos, pantalones con agujeros y rotos (siempre que no infrinja la sección 1)
- Artículos religiosos para la cabeza
Sección 3: Los estudiantes no pueden usar:
- Lenguaje o imágenes violentas
- Lenguaje o imágenes que representen drogas o alcohol (o cualquier artículo o actividad ilegal)
- Lenguaje de odio, blasfemia y pornografía
- Imágenes o lenguaje que creen un contexto agresivo o intimidador basado en cualquier clase protegida o en grupos sistemáticamente marginados Cualquier ropa que revele intencionadamente ropa interior visible
- Cualquier ropa que intencionalmente revele ropa interior visible
- Accesorios que podrían considerarse peligrosos o podrían usarse como arma
- Cualquier artículo que oculte la cara o las orejas con la siguiente excepción:

- Artículos que se utilizan como observación religiosa
